Federal Named the UK’s Most Popular Café

Bert client Federal has been named the UK’s most popular café, and top 10 in the world, in a recent study. 

Betway’s research measured the social media popularity of over 300 independent coffee shops, comparing the number of TikTok views, Instagram hashtags and Google search volume to determine which independent café is the world’s favourite.

Federal’s appeal extends far beyond Manchester’s borders. With over a million TikTok views, 11,332 Instagram hashtags, and an annual Google search volume of 397,200, Federal’s popularity places it alongside esteemed cafés such as Onibus Coffee in Tokyo, Japan, solidifying its position as a global coffee destination.

Bert rebranded Federal and developed its brand blueprint in 2018 when it was a single-store café. Federal now has four sites across the city, which are all so popular they frequently feature queues that stretch way out onto nearby pavements.
